SU Fancy/Fun Fold Blog Hop-Anything Goes

Hi everyone! Thank you for stopping by to see all the creative artisan’s Fancy/Fun fold cards.

I took inspiration from Peggy Murwin, and made it my own.

I used Stay Warm stamp set to create my sweater, hat and mittens. I used Notes & Totes stamp Sending warm wishes and cut off the “sending” word.

For the card I cut a base at 6″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″. Cut a 1-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ for the bottom panel, that holds the card together.

First, cut a 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ coordinating color. This will hold the embossed 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ basic white. I place the colored and fussy cut sweater and hat on it.

I attached a piece of Vellum behind these 3 pieces, on the inside of the card. Then used more DSP to brighten up the inside and cover up the glue showing through the Vellum.

I colored, fussy cut the 2 mittens and using dimensionals attached them behind the Vellum, on the inside.

This can be a “Winter card” vs a Christmas card. It can be used for a friend/family member who has a birthday during the winter.

My card is called a Pull-Out Pop-Up card. I used the beautiful Painterly Pears DSP. It has a mechanism under the front flap. When you pull the Old Olive and yellow DSP, it comes out. Then, a flap pops up. (see photo’s below.)

I got the tutorial from Stamping with Amore. She made a cute card for a child. I used Painterly Pears in my version. I made a tutorial for this card. If you would like the tutorial, message me and I will e-mail it to you.

My card this month is using the Everyday Arches and Modern Christmas DSP. I bought a packet from Liz Shannon-Ready, Set, Demo and have been creating the cool cards she made.

This one is called Layered Tent Fold. It was fun to make and not really hard.

This is what it looks like inside.

Here are the materials you’ll need.

Cherry Cobbler Card Stock:

  • 5-1/2” x 5-1/2” scored at 2-3/4”
  • 2-3/4” x 8-1/2” score at 4-1/4”
  • Basic White Card Stock: 2-1/2” x 5-1/4”, arch #4, arch # 9
  • Modern Christmas DSP: (watch for directionality) 2-1/2” x 4”, 2-1/2” x 5-1/4”
  • Smoky Slate Card Stock:  arches #4 & #5
  • Gold Foil Sheets: arches #6 & #7       

The 5-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece is the card base. The 2-3/4″ x 8-1/2″ is the tent part. You adhere the front to the card base front after applying the DSP. The back piece remains free.

Fancy/Fun Fold Blog Hop

Welcome! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you like all the cards shared in this blog hop this month. So many beautiful cards you can do yourself. Please be sure to visit all the other global designers below.

My card was made using the Kintsugi Inspirations DSP and dies. The card is called “That-a-Way”. I CASed Tatted Stamper. It was too beautiful not to recreate!

Cut cardstock at 4-1/4″ x 11″ and score at 5-1/2″. Cut from the right scored line to the center of the card (2-1/8″). Then cut from the left score line to the center. Save those pieces we will use them in a bit.

Cut the DSP at 4″ x 5-1/4″. Cut from the right top to the center (2″). Cut from the top left to the center. Save those pieces.

Take the center piece cut from the DSP, center and adhere to the card front. Take the (2) cardstock pieces and carefully lay them touching (wide edges at the bottom). Take a piece of scotch tape and affix them together. Repeat with the (2) DSP pieces with tape on the back. Now center and adhere the DSP to the cardstock.

Center and adhere this unit, with the point facing up, under the card front. Cut a piece of coordinating DSP 3/8″ x 5-3/8″ and apply along the joining line inside (if desired). Add an image, if desired.

Stamp a sentiment on Basic White cardstock cut at 4″ x 5-1/4″. Center and adhere to the inside of the card. Fussy cut or die cut images to add to the card front. Embellish as desired. This card is easy to do and such a wow card.

Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Fun Fold Blog Hop

This card is easy to make, but has many parts.

The materials I used are:

  • Stamp Set – Bauble Blooms
  • Card Stock – Basic White Card Stock ; Cherry Cobbler (119685)
  • Stamp Pad –Cherry Cobbler Ink
  • Misc. – Modern Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP); Dimensionals; Multipurpose Glue; Tear & Tape; Everyday Arches Dies; Shimmer Star Foam Stickers   
  • Measurements:     
  • Cherry Cobbler Card Stock: Cut with Arches 1,3,5,8 (counting from largest to smallest)
  • Cherry Cobbler Card Stock: Back Box: 3-1/4” x 3-1/4” scored at ¾”, 1-1/2”, 2-1/4”, 3”
  • Cherry Cobbler Card Stock: Front Box: 3-1/4” x 2-1/2” scored at ¾”, 1-1/2”, 2-1/4”, 3”
  • Basic White Card Stock: Cut with Arches (2) 4,10
  • DSP: Cut with Arches 2,6,10        
  • Instructions:
  1. Burnish both boxes.
  2. Add Tear & Tape to the narrowest section on both boxes.
  3. Close the box in half and adhere, repeat with 2nd box.
  4. Center and adhere the largest DSP (#2) to largest Cherry Cobbler (#1)
  5. Stamp a sentiment on the Basic White card stock (#4)
  6. Center and adhere (#4) to (#3) Cherry Cobbler
  7. Center and adhere (#5) Cherry Cobbler to (#6) DSP
  8. Center (#10) DSP to (#10) Basic White
  9. Center this unit to (#8) Cherry Cobbler
  10. Center and adhere the largest box to the bottom of the largest arch with DSP, align well along the bottom
  11. Center and adhere the Basic White/stamped arch to the front of the box.
  12. Center and adhere the smaller box to the stamped/basic white card stock
  13. Center and adhere the smaller DSP arch to the front of the box
  14. Center and adhere, using dimensionals, the smallest DSP arch to the last panel.
  15. Embellish as desired.
